I am President of AADPC and Attorney Manager with the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office. I was involved with the Problem Solving Courts early in my work as an attorney with the Public Defender’s Office. Before law school I worked in the field of behavioral health, so the benefits of a therapeutic approach to the issues and behaviors that bring our clients into the criminal justice system were immediately apparent. The balance between participating in a team approach and ensuring a client’s due process rights are protected is a rewarding challenge for a criminal defense attorney. As an Attorney Manager I work with the Deputy Public Defenders who represent participants in all of the Problem Solving Courts in Maricopa County, including Drug Court, DUI Court, JTOP, Veteran’s Court, DV Court and Mental Health Court.
